Shrimp Louis, the San Francisco treat.
We heart the demonstration classes at Draeger's Cooking School (locations in San Mateo, Blackhawk, Menlo Park, and Los Altos). It's a great evening -- you plop behind a very studious desk, but instead of doing any real work, sip a glass of wine as beautiful food is prepared for you to taste. The recipes go home with you, but you'll leave feeling satisfied even if you never lift a finger in your own kitchen.

This Friday, DCS instructor Michael Zimmerman has planned a menu of consummate San Francisco classics, including roasted prawns with Louis dressing, salad with the "greenest Green Goddess," Joe's Special, and Blum's coffee crunch cake.

As of this posting, there were only a few spots left for this class, so interested parties will want to act quickly.
