Marion Cunningham
Marion Cunningham is a local culinary powerhouse, a close friend of James Beard's who wrote the 1994 edition of The Fannie Farmer Cookbook and 2003's Lost Recipes. On Feb. 11, Foreign Cinema (2534 Mission at 21st St.) will pay tribute to Cunningham, who's turning 87. No doubt Cunningham BFF and Chron food critic Michael Bauer will be there (he's been known to take her along on review outings). For the birthday celebration, special dishes from Cunningham's cookbooks will be featured a la carte. Wine director Zach Pace will be on hand to give adult beverage advice. Call 648-7600.
