Patterson-Kinch Collaboration Like Some Monster Hip Hop Mashup
Manresa's David Kinch and Coi's Daniel Patterson are uniting for a splashy dinner Feb. 8 at Coi (373 Broadway at Montgomery). Guests will nibble seven courses ($195 for the spread), with proceeds to benefit the training of the next U.S. Bocuse d'Or representative hoping to slice, dice, and reduce international competition in Lyon come 2011.
This is the West Coast high-end farm-to-table equivalent of Jay-Z and Lil Wayne hooking up for a whole album, the gut-straining, wallet-busting, consciousness-altering jam to keep cars rattling and rims spinning all winter long. Coi's Bill Corbett -- the Kanye here -- will handle dessert, and sommeliers Matthew Fitch (Coi) and Jeff Bareilles (Manresa) will chime in with wines for an additional fee. Think of them as Clipse. Kinch's steelhead trout with onion and marrow "tears," and chervil cream? Patterson's steamed chicken breast with wild mushroom porridge, brown butter, and wood sorrel? Make your reservation, fool, and, as you dive into crispy chicken-and-egg confit, perhaps hum a few strains from a Mr. West-assisted track off Hova's latest: "We ballin, bitches/Eating ya food, leaving dishes."![]()
