Yats Says See Ya to Jack's Club Wednesday
When Yats' New Orleans Original Po Boys moved into the drab little kitchen of Jack's Club (2545 24th St. at Utah), at the time, our favored neighborhood dive, we were skeptical. A few unsuccessful forays into cuisine had already arrived and swiftly vacated the premises. Jack's was a place for wretched karaoke, lovably dissolute regulars, and pitchers of Busch served lukewarm and at a reasonably low though steadily rising expense. Somehow though, Yats turned out pretty well with its po' boys, jambalaya, and fried holiday turkeys. Now, Yats is picking up and moving on, apparently ― to fresh digs at 4800 Third St. (at Oakdale). The restaurant will close on Wednesday, Dec. 16 (day after tomorrow), and reopen in March. The holiday and catering offerings will remain available in the interim. Stay tuned for word of a new tenant at Jack's.![]()
