Latkes and Brewskis in a Special Hanukkah Tent at Saul's This Weekend
This weekend, the sidewalk in front of Saul's Deli (1475 Shattuck at Vine, Berkeley) will be jamming with Jewish music, not to mention ample servings of house-made latkes and microbrews. The Hanukkah tent celebration starts Friday, Dec. 11, and ends Sunday, Dec. 13, noon to 6 p.m. each day (the Festival of Lights itself starts Friday evening). Saul's makes its latkes with organic Glaum Ranch eggs, and fries them in local rice-bran oil. They're $2.50 a pop, or $27 a dozen; applesauce is $6.75 a quart; and sour cream runs $3.95 a pint. Hanukkah dinner specials available inside the restaurant, too. What, you think you can resist soufganyiot and lokshen and brisket braised with tangerines?![]()
