Handmade Treats from Local Vendors at La Cocina's Holiday Gift Fair
Go ahead: Knock out holiday shopping for the foodies in your life. This Friday, Dec. 4 La Cocina is putting on its first-ever holiday gift fair at the Mission Cultural Center for Latino Arts (2868 Mission at 25th St.), site of last month's infamous mole contest. The fair runs from 4 to 9 p.m., and will offer raffle prizes, nibbles, and holiday drinks. And you'll be able to stock up on handmade edible gifts from businesses that use La Cocina's incubator kitchen. Vendors include Botanas Felicitas, Clairesquares, CMB Sweets, Delicias Salvadorenas, Endless Summer Sweets, Estrellita's Snacks, Kika's Treats, Neo Cocoa, and more. Expect fair trade coffee, cookware, cookies and other sweet and savory delectables, plus a cookbook or two. Who knows: You might just walk away with more for yourself than for the giftees on your list.
