Forget Christmas: Have You Started Your Terra Madre Shopping Yet?
Just when you thought December was full up with holidays, turns out Thursday is Terra Madre Day. Say what? The Slow Food commemoration is dedicated to worldwide celebrations that, in the words of Slow Food itself, "raise awareness of the importance of 'eating locally.'" Full explanation here. In San Francisco, Slow Foodies plan to swap cookbooks and recipes, in an effort to preserve traditional knowledge. Guests are asked to provide a fave holiday tradition, which will be shared on the Slow Food blog (does watching Dad pass out on the couch count?). To sign up or get more info, contact S.F. Slow Food president Dava Guthmiller at dava@slowfoodsanfrancisco.com or by calling 957-1313 ext. 1.![]()
