An Arterial Scrubby Topped with Avocado: Your SFoodie Lunch Planner

J. Birdsall You can practically feel your arteries expanding.
We swear we can feel the LDL cholesterol that plastered itself all over our arteries, after a weekend packed with eggnog, prime rib, butter cookies, and whipped cream. We need serious roughage. And no, extra-crispy bacon doesn't count.
The Plant Café's Plant Burger should do the trick like a double dose of Lipitor. The loosely packed house-made veggie patty is a mashup of lentils, ground mushrooms, beets, cashews, and bulgur the color of red velvet cake. You can get it with avocado and cheese, and it comes with sweet roasted onion.
It can make you feel so virtuous, why not reward yourself with a couple of macarons from nearby Miette in the Ferry Building? Because, well, man can't live on bulgur alone -- even if it does come gilded with white cheddar.
