Goodbye Gum, Hello Butter Mints!

Tired of freshening your breath with the pedestrian odor of spearmint or wintergreen? Well, American eating habits are here to help you out of the doldrums. Spotted at our local Walgreens pharmacy, these technicolor tablets look just like wedding mints, but promise to taste like butter. The front of the bag suggested a modicum of natural flavors involved, but a close inspection of the ingredients list revealed the presence of "natural flavoring." We're confused, too.

We imagine that butter mints come in handy for all kinds of situations. For instance, sometimes you're at work and you can't just eat a whole stick of butter at your desk. Or you run out of the real thing on Thanksgiving and you need something to top off your mashed potatoes. Yum!
