The menu at Bushi-Tei (1638 Post at Laguna) applies French techniques and flavors with Japanese ingredients and aesthetics. But the flourless chocolate cake definitely tastes like France, a light and airy creation rather than the dense one you're used to.

Try it with roasted strawberry and organic milk ice cream at the restaurant ($8.50), or purchase a plain miniature version ($3.50) at Rainbow Grocery (1745 Folsom at 13th St.). If a nice meal out isn't in the cards right now, the latter option offers a smaller, more affordable bite of luxury. Plus you can pig out on a few of these babies in private.
