Maraming Salamat: More Filipino Street Food Hits the Scene

Lumpia Cart: The latest Filipino street food vendor.
Adobo Hobo's popularity has apparently paved the way for further editions of Filipino street food. The Lumpia Cart began serving the nation's take on spring rolls on August 30. Admittedly though, as SFoodie munched on pork and veggie lumpia this weekend, they told us that they're more directly influenced by the Mission's bacon-wrapped hot dog guys.

Could adobo be the next Korean taco, though? Adobo Hobo will soon have some more direct competition in the biz with Adobo Roll-O, though Roll-O's variety will be made of pork and coconut milk rather than the chicken that Hobo uses. Roll-O also plans to raise the stakes by serving his pop's pancit (rice noodles). He will debut -- with father in tow, no less! -- at the SFBC's last bike-in movie for the year. The Triplets of Belleville screens on September 16 in the parking lot across the street from Good Hotel (112 Seventh St. at Mission). The film starts at 8 p.m. but various food carts are usually there up to an hour before.
