The word: A fleshier, spikier, and all-around sassier cousin to lychee, rambutan is one of the scariest looking, yet sweetest tasting fruits around.
Tasting notes: Since the rambutan are freeze-dried, they end up tasting a bit dry and mealy. But there's something at least somewhat addicting about the crunch.
Buy it again? Only in a moment of weakness.
