222 Hyde Owner Expects to Open Pizza Restaurant Within Weeks

Yesterday we reported on changes at 222 Hyde, the defunct hipster nightclub in the Tenderloin undergoing rebirth as a flat-crust pizza and salumi restaurant called 222 (222 Hyde at Turk). Owner Emilio Giraudbit told SFoodie via email that he hopes to open "in a few weeks at most," after wrapping up last-minute permitting.

Giraudbit said he's completely redone the restrooms at the former mosh club (good idea), refinished the bar (including adding beer taps), and installed what he called a "unique sound/light installation" in the basement bar. Local artists will apparently showcase their work on a rotating basis.
