San Francisco has civilized food wars today, but, some 77 years ago, it was another story entirely. Tomatoes, bananas, rotten eggs, and other produce served as the ammunition in a 1932 food war between freshmen and sophomores at University of San Francisco, as seen in this rare clip, which has been made available as stock footage for filmmakers.

The USF Dons were mighty, even back then, but something tells SFoodie that there's a much more epic culinary battle just waiting to happen there.
