Au revoir to a crappy cat: Burrito Justice brings word that the creators of Shitty Kitty, the beloved yet embattled cartoon mascot of Shotwell's (3349 20th St. at Folsom), are about to leave for Morocco for the rest of the year. They're also holding a farewell meet-up and Bastille Day celebration (with provided art supplies so you can draw your own version of SK) tonight at the bar at 6:30 p.m. Burrito Justice is also polling its readers to find their preferred outcome of a war between SK and Godzilla, and SFoodie is heartened to hear that, even in these somewhat pessimistic times, a whopping 64% of them, as of this moment, believe that she will emerge victorious. Things may be looking up for her, after all.

Legal tender: Grub Street San Francisco points out a Craigslist ad from local, licensed street food vendor Annie's Hot Dogs and Pretzels, which is seeking sellers for its Golden Gate Park, Civic Center, and Union Square locations. The ad makes sure to point out their soft spot for their workers: "We are good employers who care about our employees. . . " A cynical SFoodie must ask, does that imply that other vendors do not?
