Let's do lunch:
It's as quintessentially San Francisco as freezing your ass off at AT&T: SF Weekly food critic Meredith Brody says grab a bolt-down stool at the counter and revel in the oysters and Crab Louis at Swan Oyster Depot (1517 Polk at California, 673-1101).

Drink therapy:
Celtic tapas? No, that's not a euphemism for boiled spuds. Dip into the melting pot, Mission style, via Irish potato nachos, and wash 'em down with buck-off happy-hour pints and well drinks at Phoenix Irish Bar (811 Valencia at 19th St., 695-1811), 4-7 p.m.

It's a lot classier than a Chevys, you don't have to deal with quesadilla-eating seven-year-olds, and happy-hour prices make it strip-mall cheap. Score complimentary botanas and $5 drink specials (including margaritas, mojitos, and well drinks) at Maya (303 Second St. at Folsom, 543-2928), 4-7 p.m.
