MSF's take on PB&J: Pork belly and jicama

This Saturday, June 6, Mission Street Food is going back to its roots. Chef Anthony Myint and team are planning to fire up a taco truck and serve the crowd at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts' What's the Big Idea? Late Night Party. The tentative 11-item menu includes now-classic MSF favorites like the PB&J and King Trumpet sandwiches, along with various salads (glass noodle, watermelon, roasted sweet corn) and small bites, with nothing priced over $7.

Food's gonna be our focus there, gluttons that we are, but you can also peruse the Nick Cave or Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence exhibitions and take in equally colorful performers, from bands such as Ex-Boyfriends and Pansy Division to the habit-forming fashion of the Sisters' Project Nunway. The entertainment takes place from 9 p.m. to 3 a.m. in the YBCA Grand Lobby and Galleries (701 Mission at Third St.), but MSF will start dishing up at 7:30 p.m.
