Bee pollination is an essential process in just about half of Häagen-Dazs' ice cream flavors, from the obvious (Vanilla Honey) to the less so (Raspberry and Pear). Today from 4 to 8 p.m., participating Häagen-Dazs locations (865 Market in the San Francisco Centre, 3251 20th Ave. in Stonestown Galleria) will offer up a free scoop of any of their "bee-built" flavors. The promo seeks to focus attention on the HD's awareness initiative Help the Honey Bees, which contributes to sustainable pollination research programs at Penn State and UC Davis.
