The Big 4's Wild Game Week, May 12-16 (or DIY)
![]() |
An appetizer and entree will set you back $55-65, and desserts from the regular menu are $9-10. The restaurant is open from 5:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and you can make reservations online or by calling 771-1140.
If those prices are too steep for your budget, consider buying your own game to cook at home. Big 4's antelope and sika deer come from Texas's Broken Arrow Ranch, and you can buy a wide variety of game including wild turkey, pheasant, caribou (reindeer), wild boar, elk, alligator, and kangaroo from SF's own Polarica.
In case you were wondering, "the Big Four" were the 19th century San Francisco plutocrats Collis P. Huntington, Leland Stanford, Mark Hopkins, and Charles Crocker, who were instrumental in the construction of the Central Pacific Railroad and lived in the neighborhood.
