As we just learned from George Stephanopoulos while watching the Inauguration (and listening to the endless stream of factoids issuing forth from the lips of well-paid commentators essential to such occasions), John F. Kennedy breakfasted on bacon on the morning of his Inauguration, even though it was a Friday -- by special dispensation from the Church. "The Pope said, we're going to celebrate today; Catholics can eat
meat."
Even He knew that things go better with bacon.
