Name: Lemonist

Brand: Morinaga

Origin: Japan

Found at: Ichiban Kan (1625 Post)

Cost:
99 cents (but I later discovered they were a week past their "sell by" date and normally go for $2.29)

Ingredients: Wheat flour, sugar, shortening, egg, butter, oil, concentrated lemon juice, coconut oil, rapeseed oil, margarine, salt, artificial flavor, soy lecithin

Calories per serving:
120

Why I bought it: The irresistible combination of price and cuteness.  I don't willingly pick up many "isms" in my life, but I sensed I might easily convert to the cult of the Lemonist.

Tasting notes: It's a little bit dry, but not unpleasantly so. The lemon flavor is muted and doesn't taste blaringly artificial.

Would I buy it again? Maybe, but I'll search for fresh ones next time.

What other blogs/sites thought of it: Biscuit Van thinks Lemonist is "sweet and buttery."
