Sign o' the Times: Bargain Burger at Epic Roasthouse

It was bound to happen: the highly touted multimillion-dollar Pat Kuleto-designed Epic Roasthouse , home of the $54 26-ounce porterhouse and the $46 20-ounce New York strip steak, is offering what it considers a bargain-priced lunch (or VERY early dinner) special, which they're calling the "3B," for Burger-Beer-Brownie, at $20.The 3B is available on Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Quiver Bar, the Roasthouse's upstairs space, which is noisier and less posh than the downstairs but partakes of the same astonishing bay-and-bridge view.
The burger is its Ultimate 1/2 Pound Roasthouse Burger (ground fresh daily, and complete with Accoutrements, which include potato chips, anchovy ketchup, Creole mustard, garlic aioli, sauteed mushrooms, corn relish, and bacon bits, all house-made); the beer is a 12-ounce Bud (substitutable with an Anchor Steam or Trumer Pils draft, which sounds better to us, or a Thomas Kemper root beer); and the brownie is house-baked.
We have very happy memories of the Ultimate 3/4 Pound Burger we consumed at dinner downstairs one night. And since the regular price of the 1/2 Pound Burger is $20, we already can hear -- and smell! -- the siren call of the grill.
