Slow Food Nation and Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (701 Mission) will co-present a special edition of
OPENrestaurant (roving food gatherings hosted by Chez Panisse staffers) on Tuesday, January 6 at 7 p.m. The focus will be on ways the Bay Area can maximize our natural resources for growing food, or, as they posit, "How do we make the urban landscape more productive?" This discussion, led by farmers from local spots such as Alemany Farm and Ascend Garden, is both free and open to the public, but $20 buys you a ticket for a meal of greens, beans, ham stew, rillettes, a glass of wine and dessert. More info is at the
YBCA site. -- Tamara Palmer
