Michael Mischer Visits Fog City News Today

Oakland-based chocolatier Michael Mischer will be at Fog City News (455 Market) today from noon to 2 p.m. to sample delectable bites and answer questions. After tasting one of Mischer's chocolates infused with root beer caramel, Fog owner Adam Smith suggested he create a set of other signature Yankee flavors. The end result is the "New American Classics Collection," which also features banana split, pumpkin pie, apple pie and peanut butter cup. If bars are more your bag, Mischer's "Designer Bars" are terrific (especially the 72% dark with spicy mango, the 72% with toasted almonds and Murray River salt and the 65% with dried blueberries)  and make for visually stunning gifts. --Tamara Palmer
