Cream Colored Ponies and Crisp Apple Streudels
EaterSF just hipped me to the post that Chron food critic Michael Bauer put up on his Between Meals blog this morning. In "A few of my favorite things," Bauer names 10 of his favorite local comfort foods and asks what ours are. Read his entry and all of the comments. He's started a wonderful little meme there, to which I'll respond over here and ask that you do the same. It's fun! These are my current faves, in no particular order, and you can probably tell that seafood in the deep fryer and dessert are great sources of personal comfort:

8. Panna cotta with truffled honey at Zaré at Fly Trap
9. Crab cakes at Cajun Pacific
10. It's-It original flavor ice cream sandwich
