Winner of our Best Ice Cream category in the 2008 Best of SF, La Copa Loca Artisan Gelateria features handmade frozen delights created by Italian ex-pat Mauro Pislor. His homeland pride shines through with the clever Ice Spaghetti Pomodoro sundae cup ($5), which begins with a layer of marshmallow cream, topped by vanilla gelato, fresh strawberry sauce and white chocolate shavings that look like Parmesan sprinkles. It provides a perfect refresher on a sizzling day like today. La Copa Loca Artisan Gelateria is located at 3150 22nd St (at Capp). —Tamara Palmer
