Carême 350: The Best, Most Complicated Deal of the Summer

I've been known to utter the phrase "reasonably priced" in reference to a $90 four-course meal. It's not that I have any money, it's just that I have a firm grasp of the going rate. So when I call this promotion at California Culinary Academy's student-run restaurant Carême 350 (350 Rhode Island at 16th St.) rock-bottom, dirt-cheap, bargain basement, the best deal of the summer, I mean it: 3 1/2 for $3.50. That's three-and-a-half courses for $3.50, lunch or dinner. It happens next Thursday, July 24, as well as the second and fourth Thursdays in August and September. But they're not finished yet. The Progressive Promotion is also happening this month, and it's a little complex, so pay attention: bring one guest and get 25% off your bill, bring two guests and get 50% off, bring three or more guests and you'll get 75% off. It's valid July 16 (today), 29, and 30 for lunch only. Lunch runs Tuesday –- Friday, 11:30 –- 1:00 p.m.; dinner 6:00 -- 8:00 p.m. For reservations call 415-216-4329.
