If You Wanna Fly, You Gotta Buy: An Evening With Marco Caprai

If you feel like blowing a giant wad of cash this week on what promises to be a beyond-excellent dinner with even more excellent wine, then by all means, read on. For everyone else, it's probably best to go ahead and nail down reservations for one of Dine About Town's three-course prix fixe menus ($31.95 for dinner -- seriously, you can't beat that). However, this Friday, June 6, Nob Hill Italian spot Acquerello (1722 Sacramento at Polk) is whipping out the big guns for their Evening With Marco Caprai of Arnaldo Caprai, a top-producer of Sagrantino di Montofalco, the famed Umbria (Italy) region vino that's been flowing for more than 400 years. They'll be serving one of Caprai's "25 Anni" early vintages with a dinner menu prepared by chef-owner Suzette Gresham-Tognetti. Reception at 6:30, dinner at 7:00; $350 per person. Oy, that better be some fantastic wine.
