Thrilling Tales Of Cheesemongering (With Wine) At Bar Bambino

Why has raw cheese captured the imagination of cheeselovers the world over? Alas, I wasn't aware that it had. I'm so behind the times. The good news is that you can find out what all the fuss is about this Sunday, June 1, at Bar Bambino's (2931 16th St) second Monthly Cheese and Wine Tasting. Head cheesemonger Colin Shaff will present four tasting sets to illustrate the differences between raw and pasteurized cheeses, along with thrilling tales about the many predicaments of artisanal cheese production. Sounds exciting. Thankfully, as the name suggests, there will be plenty of wine involved, with owner Christopher Losa pouring some of Italy's finest with each course. The event runs 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.; $45 per person. Call 701-VINO (8466) for reservations.
