There Is A God: Cupcake Camp At Citizen Space Sunday

As if simply eating cupcakes weren't enough of a bonus for what's promising to be a rather gloomy Sunday afternoon, the folks behind the ingenious CupcakeCamp at Citizen Space (425 2nd St. #300) are operating on more of a co-op basis (another great move). This gives cupcake lovers the option of baking (or buying) their own cupcakes to bring or simply showing up with the lofty goal of cramming down as many as possible in the space of four hours. But as the wise Walter Sobchak once said, "Smokey, this is not 'Nam ... There are rules." In this case, participants who'd like to bring their own cupcakes are limited to one dozen per person, which must arrive at Citizen Space by 1:30 p.m., and attendees must be prepared to take leftover cupcakes home. The festivities also include a Best in Show competition with categories for Best Frosting (flavor), Best Cake, and Most Creative/Unique/Original. So loosen those belts, pack a bib, and get ready for some serious cupcake-scarfing, folks. It's happening this Sunday, June 1 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. To attend, RSVP here.
