Free Hummus Sundaes In GG Park! Sounds, Er, Good?

Fact: Sabra makes the best packaged hummus. It's smoother and creamier than any other store-bought hummus I've ever tasted, and the flavors are always spot-on.

Fact: imagining a hummus "sundae" is kind of gross, no matter how good the hummus.

Yet that's exactly what the Sabra people are doing. This Sunday, May 18th, the company is rolling a mobile kitchen into the Polo Field at Golden Gate Park (Fulton at 36th Ave / Lincoln at 41st Ave) to hand out -- presumably for free -- make-your-own hummus sundaes. Just grab a cup of the good stuff, choose your toppings: among them lemon, something called "supremely spicy" (sign me up), roasted garlic, roasted red pepper, and pine nuts. Then the Sabra people will blend your custom hummus into a sort of savory, Mediterranean Blizzard. Runs 9:00 -- 2:00 p.m.
