Shocker: Service Employees More Depressed Than Architects

If Monday alone wasn't depressing enough, get a load of this: cooks, bartenders, waiters and waitresses have the second highest rates of depression of any full-time employees, at 10.3 percent, topped only by personal care workers, which includes people who care for children, the severely disabled and the elderly, at almost 11 percent.

But there is a bright side, even for suicidal waiters: the overall depression rate for full-time workers of any stripe, seven percent, is still much lower than that of the unemployed, at 12.7 percent.
