Whole Foods Opens Potrero Hill "Lifestyle Store": Shopping Will Never Be The Same

whole_foods.jpg

Although the term "lifestyle store" sounds a little creepy to us, we can't deny that we're excited to hang out at the enormous new Whole Foods store in Potrero Hill.

True to form, the store -- the biggest Whole Foods in San Francisco -- features many upscale "lifestyle" elements that sound a little foreign for a grocery store, including an in-store day spa (so you can get a manicure while waiting for your thin-sliced, herb-roasted turkey breast), a side-store bistro with a wine bar, Anchor Steam tap and DJ (so you can get wasted and play shopping cart bumper cars), and plenty of made-to-order hot entrees, so you can sober up before you hit the road. Sounds like a great first date, actually.

San Francisco isn't the only Bay Area city getting the Whole Foods lifestyle treatment. Last last month the largest store in the West opened in Cupertino and in a few weeks another one will open its doors in Oakland. Bring it on, lifestyle wizards.
