San Francisco Ranked Best City for Single, Straight Women (Really?)

Ah yes, the joys of dating

We're not sure about this finding. We don't know any 20-something (or young 30-something) straight couples who met in San Francisco (correction: as we were telling our co-workers about this "study," we identified two couples in the office), but beyond them, we know none.

But according to a recent study from NerdWallet, we're wrong, and San Francisco is a great place to be a single, heterosexual woman. This seems odd, as it was only in 2012, that a study by Men's Health found San Francisco was a great place to be a guy -- because of all the single women.

So let's breakdown a few of these items they used to rank us as the top spot to be a single woman:

1. "A greater number of unmarried men than women": Sorry, but any single, straight woman in San Francisco knows she's got to assume there's a possibility her crush is gay. So while there may be plenty of single men, we know many of them want nothing to do with the female crowd when it comes to dating.

2. "...the city's walkability combine to make it easy to meet others": Maybe we watch too much Law & Order: SVU, but if some man decides to approach us while we're walking down the sidewalk, we're only going to walk faster -- and get out our mace.

3. "San Francisco's eclectic culture and status as a top tourist destination allow for some great potential dates": You know, sometimes a woman just doesn't want an eclectic one-night stand.

They also looked at the unemployment rate, cost of a date, and number of bars and restaurants. So at least if a woman scores a date, he'll be able to afford her drink because he's got a job!

We're sorry NerdWallet, but we think San Francisco can actually be a difficult dating scene for a straight woman. Maybe we're wrong. Let's hope so.

SF is a terrible place for single women- all the single men in their late 20s to early 30/mid 30s have HIDEOUS Peter Pan Syndrome, ESPECIALLY all the tech workers. They are good for a fancy dinner, and a horrible one night shag (because they've never cared enough to learn more than high school level sexual skills- they've always thought that six-figure salary would make up for a badly faked orgasm.) There is a very good reason there are so many single women in the bay area- it's because all the men of equivalent age are too busy with their PlayStations to even register our presence.

Best for single women who want to remain single FOREVER.  I am keeping my Facebook friends completely entertained with my "dating" misadventures (as if you ever get past texting or emailing with any of the men here - they all seem to want textual, as opposed to real life, relationships).

NerdWallet, did you send your biggest nerd to Joes Crabshack, and he mistook the crab for a greasy date after a fishbowl hurricane to write this article?

I refuse to date SF pansy men anymore, and realize now, it was why I was single through my 20's. Way too metro for my taste, or seem to be in the closet. Trust me, I am an expert at dating, and have decided that if I want a masculine guy, I literally can not look for men in SF anymore.
