Kristen Wiig and Alexander Skarsgard Film Diary of a Teenage Girl in San Francisco
Keep your eyes open for the latest film crew roaming the streets of San Francisco -- The Diary of a Teenage Girl has started filming in S.F., according to Variety. And while you know Kristen Wiig from a comedic background, don't expect many laughs from this movie.
If you're not familiar with the graphic novel of the same name that the film is based on, it's the diary pages of a 15-year-old girl traversing a very rocky adolescence in San Francisco during the 1970s -- her mother's an alcoholic, she sleeps with her mother's boyfriend, she's raped, abused, and ends up on the streets of the City -- the story unfolding through a comic narrative and illustrations.
A turbulent time for the protagonist and San Francisco -- the Zodiac Killer, the Zebra Murders, the assassination of Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk, the relocation of the Jonestown church form Geary to Guyana and the mass murder-suicide that followed.
SFist already noted one Instagram-er caught a glimpse of Alexander Skarsgard out at Ocean Beach in some very blue, short shorts. We're sure to see many more shots of Skarsgard and Wiig in lovely polyester blends before they leave.
