Tonight is night two of Silent Frisco on Ice! If you're not familiar with Silent Frisco, it's where everyone tunes their headphones into a certain FM transmission to listen to the same music as they dance or (in this case) skate. Everyone who isn't wearing headphones misses out on the tunes. They've released more tickets online and will have some at the ice rink door. The doors open at 7:30, and the event runs through 11:30 p.m. Tickets are $20.
Another wintry event:
Growing up in Wisconsin, sledding was sheer exhilaration -- with a hint of terror -- and a rite of passage for every kid over the age of two. While San Francisco kids may not know the rules of sledding (Get away from all the trees. Seriously.) or hit an icy patch that sends them flying, they'll still have the opportunity to hit the sledding slopes this Saturday. Heck, kids at heart should take a slide down the snowy man-made hill too.
A free event, the annual San Francisco Snow Days will blanket Civic Center Plaza in front of City Hall. While it won't be close to a temperature for flurries, it'll still be a mild low-60s, so bring gloves. Sledding disks will be provided!
SF.funcheap has more information on the event happening Sat.-Sun., 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m., such as it will coincide with a canned food drive, so bring some non-perishable items to donate.
