Experience a Swedish Christmas This Weekend

It wouldn't be a Swedish Christmas without Lucia
While you won't be wearing a wreath of lit candles and singing "Santa Lucia," you can still experience the smorgasbord board of food and festivities that make up a Swedish Christmas.

The 30th annual Swedish Women's Educational Foundation Scandinavian Christmas event is this Saturday, featuring folk singers, food (think more meatballs and less pickled fish), Glogg (a festive way to imbibe), gingerbread-house building, and crafts for sale.

Lucia and various musicians will be performing throughout the day, and others at the fair will be wearing traditional Swedish costumes.

So if IKEA is the most Swedish thing you've ever experienced, we suggest checking out this very-Swedish festival. God Jul!

The Swedish Christmas Fair is Dec. 7 (9 a.m.-4 p.m.) at Cathedral St. Mary of Assumption (1111 Gough).
