An Inside Look Into The Mind of Extreme Skiers
It's impossible to tell what goes through the minds of extreme skiers as they zigzag their way down steep mountain tops at ultra-fast speeds.
From afar they might seem like nothing more than a tiny speck on an enormous blanket of white. From up close on our fancy HDTV screens we might catch a glimpse of cold breath and drive.
However, in the new film Into the Mind directors Eric Crosland and Dave Mossop attempt to take viewers into the inner thoughts of these daredevil athletes.
From Alaska to the Himalayas, Into the Mind chronicles the experiences of common skiers and reveals what really lies beneath the heavy gear and zen-like calm. Told through dreamlike cinematography and (of course) action, the film paints a philosophical portrait of the adrenaline driven sport.
Into the Mind screens Friday, Nov. 22 at 8:30 p.m. at Palace of Fine Arts with renowned black diamond skier Johnny Collinson in attendance.
