Holiday Cheer: Highlighting Good Deeds Around the United States
Go Inspire Go
There are many unsung heroes -- much of the time, they toil away working for the betterment of a community with little recognition -- but there's an organization focused on bringing these positive stories to the forefront.
Go Inspire Go, founded by San Franciscan, and former television news reporter, Toan Lam, is a site dedicated to sharing the stories, through social media channels, of those working to make the world a better place to live.
"I had this idea, to use my storytelling skills to tell uplifting news stories about worthy causes, and share them on social media to spark civic involvement," says Lam. "I thought, 'If I can get just get 5 people to help each other, I'd be so excited.'"
His latest project, "50/50," will continue the positive storytelling, featuring videos of 50 "street corner-style" heroes. Volunteers will help edit produce the videos that highlight everyone from a 12-year-old animal rights activist to an organization dedicated to helping inner-city youth.
You can check out the videos of the "street-corner heroes" on the Go Inspire Go site.
