Don't Panic: We've Planned the Busiest Weekend Ever For You
For a city that prides itself on being a cultural epicenter, we sure freak out when there's more than one big event happening in a weekend. The San Francisco Calendar Crisis of 2012 has reached such epic proportions that Mayor Ed Lee is warning citizens to remain calm, the entire police force is on red alert, and the streets are closing down.
Okay, we're exaggerating a little bit. But seriously, guys, calm down. Events happen in cities all the time. We can totally handle the America's Cup exhibition races, Fleet Week, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass, Litquake, the opening of Uniqlo, the Italian Heritage Parade, and the Castro Street Fair (and some sports shenanigans, if you're into that kind of thing)! We're all going to have fun cultural experiences and it'll only hurt if you don't wear comfortable walking shoes.

To save you from looking like a grandma, we've created an itinerary that lets you get a little taste of all the cool stuff happening this weekend.
Saturday, October 6
10 a.m. -- Uniqlo (111 Powell St.)
Yes, Uniqlo is finally coming to the West Coast, and every fashionista who loves shopping for basics at bargain prices is freaking out. (For the uninitiated, this is like the fashion version of getting our very first local IKEA store.) Friday, Oct. 5 is the grand opening, but it's going to be absolutely packed, so wait a day before picking up those super-comfy corduroy leggings.
1:30 p.m. -- Fleet Week Air Show (Off the Pier)
Get the perfect vantage point of the arial theatrics at Off the Pier, Off the Grid's food truck extravaganza with a view. Grab some grub from our beloved Curry Up Now, follow it with a treat from the Creme Brulee Truck, and top the feast off with a beer from one of several outdoor bars. Try not to freak out and spill your drink when a bunch of military jets roar over your head.
2:30 p.m. -- Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival (Golden Gate Park)
Show some respect for festival founder Warren Hellman during the set dedicated to his memory, or get to know that really catchy band from the Bing commercial (aka The Lumineers). Stick around for The Head & The Heart. If you're planning to spend your whole weekend at the festival, check out our list of top 11 bands to see. Coming up: Sunday
