Comedian David Cross to Perform at Outside Lands
During a recent press call, Cross said that the stand-up routines will be a nice "break before the next chunk of music," and that stand-up is a "complementary form of entertainment," to the bands playing.
And he is right. After watching hours and hours of bands play, some comedy will be well appreciated. But if the press call is any indicator of who will be the butt of his jokes, then Skrillex better prepare himself. After Cross declared, "I'm funnier than Norah Jones, but not funnier than Skrillex," he explained his role in Skrillex's onstage performance:
"I usually tour with him in case one of his iPods break. I'm there on the side. We did a gig and I had to run on stage three times when one of his iPods broke and go [makes loud skrillex/dub-step inspired noises into the phone]. I help him make music in case one of his USB ports is fucked up."
Cross performs on Friday, August 10 at 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. at The Barbary.
