World's Ugliest Dog Contest Photos Haunt Our Dreams
We feel like we do a pretty good job of covering the adorable dog beat around these parts. But we've been woefully remiss in bringing you the hard hitting news on dogs that are, uh, less gifted in the genetics department. 
Thankfully, our sister blog the Snitch has us covered. Today, Erin Sherbert introduces us to the fantastically ugly dog Mugly, who has traveled across the pond to compete in the World's Ugliest Dog Contest this Friday at the Sonoma-Marin Fair in Petaluma.
God save the Queen
Mugly has some pretty stiff competition ahead of him, however. Will he triumph over the eyeball-less Marco? The half-carp, half-Ewok Monkey? Only time (and a panel of judges) will tell. In the meantime, you can vote for your favorite pitiful pooch at the Sonoma-Marin Fair's gallery. It's like watching a car wreck or Martha Stewart's Living -- horrifying, yet we are unable to look away.
