After a successful run in 2004, The Lion King is coming back to San Francisco this fall for an 11-week engagement at the SHN Orpheum Theatre, according to a statement from SHN. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday, June 8, at 7 a.m. The dates for the San Francisco run are Nov. 1 of this year through Jan. 13, 2013.

The production, a musical stage adaptation of the Disney film by the same name, is in its 15th year and has become the highest grossing Broadway show in history, according to SHN. It has been translated into multiple languages and has toured around the world.

The Orpheum showings include Tuesday through Saturday evenings at 8 p.m., Saturday matinees at 2 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 1 p.m. In addition, select Wednesday matinees at 2 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 6:30 p.m. are available.

SHN would not reveal ticket prices, stating only that seats start at $35. As a point of comparison, tickets for American Idiot, SHN's July show at the Orpheum, cost $50-$200.
