S.F. Street Fashion: Outerwear -- Winter Has Arrived!
Brrr, city slickers! You were thinking we'd get away with that warm, sunny winter we'd been having, didn't you? I did some wishful thinking myself and put my umbrella in the back of my closet, but I guess I'm willing to get it back out again. It's really cute, and it matches my coat, so I'm making the best of it.

This week on the street, I noticed lots of sartorial ladies taking on the chill in style. Everyone's bundled up and looking cozy as can be. Now that it finally feels like winter in San Francisco, fashion on the street is becoming all about the accessories -- the right coat, umbrella, or tote to polish off an outfit. Click through to see some of the cutest coats and cold-weather ensembles I spotted this week in the Mission, the Castro, and the Financial District. (Unfortunately, I don't have any street gents for you this week. I saw one guy with a bright yellow scarf tied in a gorgeous, floral-looking knot, but he didn't want his picture taken -- party pooper!)
The holidays are gone, but it seems the "holiday shorts" trend is sticking around for a while. I particularly like her ruffled pair; they're utterly charming and just a little flirtatious. I also like how she paired them with an oversized sweater because it keeps the look casual. She's a great example of practical rainy-day fashion; shorts won't drag in the street and get soaked, and tights dry out quickly, keeping her toasty instead of soggy.
