Chelsea Lately Regular Heather McDonald Brings Her "Mom-Com" to Regency Ballroom
San Francisco's Regency Ballroom sees its fair share of loud concerts on the weekends, but Saturday brings a different kind of bombast to the stage: Heather McDonald. McDonald spends most of her time writing for and appearing weekly on Chelsea Handler's nightly television program Chelsea Lately and its companion reality show After Lately. Other writing credits include Keenan Ivory Wayans' White Chicks film as well as Fashion Police, Joan Rivers' vehicle on the E! channel. She also wrote the 2010 bestseller You'll Never Blue Ball in This Town Again: One Woman's Painfully Funny Quest to Give It Up. ![]()

Despite the risque nature of that tome, McDonald's typical trade on the standup stage is in what we'd like to call "Mom-Com," with keen observations about her life and love as a mother of three. She's also quite the talented mimic who can fly off with deadpan takes of characters such as Octo-Mom, Khloe Kardashian, Miley Cyrus, Sarah Palin, and Celine Dion.
Colleagues Brad Wollack, Chris Franjola, and Fortune Feimster (but unfortunately not Handler's sidekick Chuy Bravo) join McDonald for the Comedians of Chelsea Lately Tour on Saturday (Dec. 17) at the Regency Ballroom. Admission is $34-49.
