Running to catch the adorable queer radical publisher bus!

Her longtime touring literary group, Sister Spit, is entering into a partnership with the great City Lights publishers to make more books for you to devour and be inspired by. As usual, Tea is overflowing with excitement about helping people create and share their work. "Our very own imprint!"

Yes! Yay! More books by Ali Liebegott for us!
For those not familiar with all these San Francisco powerhouses, Michelle Tea is most famous for her Valencia Project, a creativity-inducing multidirector, chapter-by-chapter film version of her cultishly adored '90s lesbian Mission District classic, Valencia. (She is not yet famous for having co-written the Gossip's Beth Ditto's forthcoming memoir, but she will be.)

Sister Spit is the cultishly adored traveling roadshow encompassing writers, performance artists, comedians, visual artists, and more in an "all-gendered and trans-inclusive" tour Tea and buddies started back in 1997 (how do we love thee, Lynn Breedlove and Sini Anderson!?)

And City Lights Publishing is the bookmaking arm of Beat poet and hero publisher Lawrence Ferlinghetti's landmark bookstore in North Beach; it's like Disneyland for writers.

Tea tells us, "Our first three books will be a Sister Spit anthology, and then a reprint of an out-of-print book by Ali Liebegott (I am guessing The Beautifully Worthless) as well as NEW WORK from her!"

Beyond that, she says, "Priority will of course be given to the dozens of writers Sister Spit has brought on tour, and then to the hundreds of writers who have worked with RADAR Productions, but we will be accepting manuscripts 'through the transom,' as they say in the biz."
