In this week's cover story "Tales of Strange Romance: Stories of Single Life in San Francisco" we learned about Amanda, a young woman who had a miserable date with a Marina douchebag who drank on her dime, talked about his ex, and ended the night with getting creepy. Wanting to make things right, we decided to help out Amanda by putting together a Facebook version of that old TV classic, The Dating Game.

It goes like this: we've got Amanda and three young bachelors -- Gavin, Joe, and Omar -- all set up to play The Dating Game via Facebook, tonight. (The good folks at 3G Studios put it together for us.) We figured, what's more typical of San Francisco than spending your evening parked in front of a laptop?

After three rounds of questions and answers, Amanda should have a good idea of who she'd like to get to know better. To that end, we'll send them out on a date at Chaya Brasserie, courtesy of SF Weekly. (We recommend the bread pudding.) Want to meet the contestants? Check 'em out after the jump.

Amanda, our bachelorette, graduated from university in Washington last May and moved to S.F. in September, working part-time at a nonprofit. She also works part-time for a recording studio, and pens a music blog. Says Amanda: "I love to read, drink wine, run, barhop with friends, explore Northern California, and go to as many concerts as my budget will allow."

And, competing for a night out with Amanda, we have ...

omar.jpg
Omar, an East Coast guy who went to school at UNC before moving to NYC for a few years before making his way west. Omar lives in Russian Hill and works at a healthcare software and consulting company in the East Bay. Says Omar, "My weekends usually consist of drinking, with some travel here and there."

Joe, a native of Arkansas who moved to the city in 2006. Joe now spends his days working as an accountant at a branding firm in S.F., but when he's not in the office, you'll find him out and about. Says Joe, "I like spending my free time in dive bars or outdoors."

gavin.jpg
Gavin, a recent college graduate and self-described "half-vegetarian" who works for a food nonprofit by day and burns pizzas by night. In his spare time? Says Gavin: "I like to ride my bike, bounce my curls, eat big cookies, and cook my twin brother grilled cheese."

Who will Amanda pick? Check back at the Exhibitionist tomorrow to find out what happened in our own little version of The Dating Game.
